Your Bentley

The Bentley Drivers Club is committed to helping Members to enjoy their Bentleys to the full. Whatever problems they may encounter, the Club will assist as much as it is able in this respect. Quite apart from the Spares Schemes, the details of which are explained below, there are a number of other services which the Club offers to members.

Original Registration Numbers

Over the years, many older cars, including Bentleys, have become separated from the UK registration number that they were first issued with. The DVLA in Swansea operate a scheme for recognised Clubs, of which the Bentley Drivers Club is one, to enable Members to be re-united with their original registration mark. Of course, this service is entirely dependant upon sufficient evidence being made available to them to enable them, if that registration mark is not currently in use, to re-register a car accordingly. The necessary forms V765 and V55/5 are available directly from any DVLA office or from Club Office.

Workshop Manuals

The Club is able, supplies permitting, to sell to Members a suitable workshop manual for any Bentley manufactured between 1919 and 1965. You may obtain one of these by contacting Martin Greenslade at the Club Office

FIVA Passports

These days, with the explosion of interest in older cars throughout the world, and with a corresponding proliferation of events available for the owners of such cars, it has become entirely necessary for the organisers of these events to require that owners who wish to participate, provide proof of the provenance of their cars as a screening mechanism to keep participation limited to genuine period cars.

To this end, the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens have implemented a vehicle licensing procedure which is managed through various registered clubs, of which the Bentley Drivers Club is one. If a member requires a FIVA passport for their Bentley, Club Office can supply the application form, which an appointed Club Officer will need to authorise before its submission to FIVA.
